Horner jokes about blocking Wolff

In a classic example of the love-hate relationship between Christian Horner and Toto Wolff, Red Bull's team principal revealed that there’s no way Toto Wolff, Mercedes team boss, can get in touch with him easily.

"I think he’s blocked," said Horner during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast.

This revelation provides a humorous insight into their bitter rivalry, which peaked amid the 2021 title fight, mirroring the on-track battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

In spite of their contentious relationship, Horner also affirmed the importance of a healthy competition in the sport.

"There’s healthy competition, and it’s good to have rivalry in sport," he emphasized, acknowledging Mercedes’ accomplishments while remaining forward-focused.

Horner added, "It’s not really about Toto. It’s about Ferrari, about Aston Martin. And he’s no doubt got his challenges, so I’ll let him focus on those."

He described the absence of rivalry as boring, indicating its capacity to inspire teams and fans alike.

Earlier this year, Wolff also acknowledged their rivalry, claiming he's "living in Horner’s head rent-free."

He criticized Horner for being 'obsessed,' downplaying their mutual jibes as a waste of his time.
