Saudi Arabia unveils new F1 track in Qiddiya
Saudi Arabia unveils Qiddiya's Speed Park Track, a pioneering motorsport venture with a 20-story corner and adjacent rollercoaster races, reshaping the racing scene.
Saudi Arabia's upcoming Speed Park Track in Qiddiya City is aiming to provide a unique motorsports experience with several innovative design features.
Conceptualized by renowned F1 circuit architect Hermann Tilke and former F1 driver Alexander Wurz, the track blends street and circuit racing environments.
One of the standout elements is a 108-meter (20-story) banked corner dubbed "The Blade" that will severely test drivers' skills at high speeds.
Another section runs alongside Six Flags Qiddiya's Falcon's Flight rollercoaster ride, allowing spectators to witness competition between race cars and thrill rides.
Rather than conventional grandstands, the venue utilizes elevated terraces to bring fans closer to the on-track action from multiple vantage points.
This integrated design aims to create an immersive viewing experience.
The Speed Park Track is seamlessly incorporated into Qiddiya's entertainment district, providing visitors access to other attractions like a music venue, water park, and theme parks alongside motorsports events.
Abdullah Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, emphasizes the track's versatility, stating,
"It will be setting the gold standard for the industry, redefining the world of motorsports for competitors and spectators alike."
The venue aims to host a wide range of top-level motorsport events, appealing to diverse audiences.
