Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber

History

Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber is a Formula One team based in Hinwil, Switzerland. It was originally founded as the Sauber F1 team in 1993.

From 1993 to 2005, and then again from 2011 to 2018, the team raced under the Sauber banner, establishing itself as a mainstay of the Formula 1 grid.

However, Sauber's identity has evolved through various partnerships and rebrandings over the years.

Between 2006 and 2010, the team was known as BMW Sauber, a collaboration that brought the team its only Grand Prix victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix and saw them finishing second and third in the Constructors' Championship in 2007 and 2008, respectively.

Following BMW's departure from Formula 1, Sauber faced a period of uncertainty before regaining full independence.

Despite this, they continued to race as BMW Sauber in 2010 due to regulatory formalities.

In 2011, the team returned to its roots, dropping the BMW prefix to once again compete as Sauber.

The narrative took another turn in 2019 when Sauber entered a partnership with Alfa Romeo, racing as the Alfa Romeo F1 Team until 2023.

This period was marked by a blend of tradition and modernity, symbolizing a bridge between Sauber's rich history and its forward-looking aspirations.

In 2024, the team introduced yet another chapter in its ever-evolving story, competing as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber.

This rebranding signifies not only a new era for the team but also a precursor to an exciting future, with Audi set to become the factory team from 2026 onwards, further solidifying Sauber's legacy in the sport.
