A Leap Towards Sustainable Motorsport

P1 Fuels' technology grabbed headlines at last year's British Grand Prix when Vettel completed a historic demonstration run in Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning 1992 car, fueled by P1's fossil-free fuel.

This initiative represented a significant stride towards a sustainable future for motorsports.

"Carbon-neutral fuels are a way to cherish our motorsport heritage responsibly," Vettel noted before the demonstration.

The four-time world champion has been a vocal advocate for environmental sustainability, urging the F1 fraternity to do their part in mitigating climate change.

P1 Fuels' strategy involves leveraging its presence in motorsport to expedite the mainstream adoption of its products.

The company already enjoys an exclusive supplier partnership with the World Rally Championship, and now, it's setting sights on Formula 1.

P1 Fuels' co-founder and COO, Benjamin Pochammer, confirmed that the firm is presently in discussions with several F1 team suppliers to explore possible future collaborations.

This comes in anticipation of the sport's transition to fully sustainable fuels by 2026.

The Road to Formula 1

Although Formula 1 is currently collaborating exclusively with Aramco for the creation of 2026 fuel regulations, Pochammer revealed that P1 is already in active talks with teams to see how it could contribute.

"There is no tender in F1 right now as Aramco is the one and only in this place. But in F1, everyone can drive with different fuel companies," Pochammer said.

"We do have a couple of F1 racing companies who already work with teams, and they want to test our products."

While specific names of the companies and teams in question were not disclosed, Pochammer noted that it was an "exciting" prospect.

The P1 Fuels team is not only passionate about racing but also about making a significant impact on the global fuel market.

"We really have a vision," Pochammer stressed. "The first step is this, but the second step is getting out there so that everyone can use this kind of fuel because that is the vision we have.”

Vettel's Informal Partnership with P1 Fuels

Vettel's association with P1 Fuels has been instrumental in raising awareness about the company's products.

Pochammer clarified that their relationship with Vettel is informal and was sparked by the German's desire to contribute to the fight against climate change.

"He [Vettel] loves what P1 is doing. He's not an official ambassador or anything.

He is using it and actually wherever he goes, he says: ‘Okay, I drive your car, but only with P1.’ We love it," Pochammer added.
