OFFICIAL: Aston Martin partners with Honda for the 2026 season
Aston Martin will transition from a Mercedes customer team to an official partner with Honda starting 2026. This strategic alliance marks an ambitious step forward, potentially propelling Aston Martin into the realm of title challengers.
Aston Martin and Honda have officially announced their partnership.
This partnership comes with the introduction of new F1 power unit regulations, paving the way for an increased role of electric power and sustainable fuels in the sport.
As part of the agreement, Honda will supply power units to the team from the 2026 season, conforming to these forthcoming regulations.
"I would like to welcome Honda and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) to the AMF1 Team. We share a mutual drive, determination, and relentless ambition to succeed on track," commented Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman, AMF1 Team.
Aston Martin's partnership with Honda, one of the titans of the motorsport industry, marks a key milestone in the team's strategic roadmap, reinforcing its ambitions in Formula 1.
Toshihiro Mibe, Global CEO, Honda, stressed the synergy between Honda's aspiration towards carbon neutrality and F1's push for sustainability.
He added, "Honda and our new partner, the AMF1 Team, share the same sincere attitude and determination to win...we will work together and strive for the Championship title as Aston Martin Aramco Honda."
