Lando Norris delivered a commanding performance to win the Singapore Grand Prix, showing his impressive form in the second half of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

The British driver converted pole position into his third victory of the year, finishing 20.9 seconds ahead of championship leader Max Verstappen.

Despite two minor wall contacts during the race, Norris maintained control throughout.

He brushed the wall at Turn 14 before his pit stop and again at Turn 10 later in the race, but neither incident significantly impacted his dominant pace.

Norris quickly built a lead in the early laps, pulling away from Verstappen at over a second per lap at times.

Verstappen, starting second, was unable to challenge Norris and had to settle for the runner-up position.

Oscar Piastri completed the podium, securing third place for McLaren after a strategic long stint on medium tyres allowed him to overtake both Mercedes drivers.

George Russell finished fourth for Mercedes, fending off a late charge from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top eight finishers.

Nico Hulkenberg secured a valuable ninth place for Haas, successfully defending against Sergio Perez throughout his hard-tyre stint.

The result sees Norris close the gap in the drivers' championship to 52 points behind Verstappen, keeping his title hopes alive as the season progresses.

This victory further cements McLaren's resurgence in 2024, with the team now firmly established as consistent frontrunners alongside Red Bull and Mercedes.

Daniel Ricciardo managed to set the fastest lap of the race on soft tyres, denying Norris a perfect weekend.

Kevin Magnussen and Alex Albon were the only retirements, with Albon exiting early due to an overheating power unit.
