Mexico GP FP2 Results
In the 2023 Mexico GP's FP2, Verstappen led with 1:18.656s. Norris was close behind, followed by Leclerc, Bottas, and Perez. Despite light rain, Verstappen seems poised for Saturday's pole position.
Max Verstappen once again topped the time sheets in the second practice session for the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix.
The Dutchman looked firmly in control on a Friday that saw occasional light rain showers during the 60-minute session.
Posting a best time of 1:18.656s, Verstappen finished 0.119s clear of Lando Norris in the McLaren.
Charles Leclerc slotted into third, 0.266s off Verstappen's benchmark lap in the Ferrari.
He was followed closely by Valtteri Bottas, while home favorite Sergio Perez rounded out the top five.
Further down the order, Daniel Ricciardo was sixth quickest, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and George Russell as the teams gathered valuable data and assessed tire compounds.
With Verstappen looking comfortable in both dry and damp conditions, he appears well-positioned to challenge for pole position on Saturday
