The Woking-based team has moved swiftly to retain one of the architects behind their remarkable return to form, announcing on Tuesday that Prodromou will maintain his position as aerodynamics technical director.

This extension represents a crucial step in McLaren's strategy to preserve the winning formula that has propelled them back to the summit of Formula 1.

A proven track record

Prodromou's history with McLaren spans decades, having first stepped into their design office in 1991.

His journey has been marked by significant achievements and a notable stint at Red Bull before his return to McLaren in 2014.

Under Andrea Stella's leadership, Prodromou's role expanded significantly in 2023, becoming a cornerstone of McLaren's three-pronged technical leadership structure alongside engineering chief Neil Houldey and chief designer Rob Marshall.
