Japan GP-FP1 & FP2 Results
Max Verstappen led FP1 at Suzuka, with Red Bull dominating. Rain hampered FP2, but McLaren's Oscar Piastri topped the timesheets in the closing stages.
Max Verstappen set the quickest lap time of 1:30.056, leading the pack.
The Red Bull duo dominated the timesheets, with Sergio Perez trailing his teammate by a slim margin of less than two-tenths of a second, securing the second spot.
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz followed closely behind, finishing third and only 0.032 seconds adrift of Perez.
The Mercedes pair of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton claimed fourth and fifth positions, respectively, with Russell edging out his teammate.
Charles Leclerc, in the second Ferrari, took sixth place, while Fernando Alonso secured the seventh-fastest time.
Rookie driver Oscar Piastri impressed with an eighth-place finish. Local favorite Yuki Tsunoda gave his home crowd something to cheer about, setting the ninth-quickest time.
Completing the top ten was McLaren's Lando Norris, showcasing a solid performance in the first practice session.

In a rain-shortened second practice session at Suzuka, a late burst of dry-tire running saw McLaren's Oscar Piastri emerge as the quickest driver.
With only a few minutes remaining, Piastri managed to set a lap time of 1:34.725 on the soft compound tire, edging out Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton by 0.501 seconds.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc claimed the third spot, also on soft tires, but found himself four seconds off the pace as he chose not to push during his only representative lap.
The Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez settled for fourth and fifth, respectively, having set their times on intermediate tires.
Local star Yuki Tsunoda impressed his home crowd by outpacing Daniel Ricciardo.
Only nine drivers recorded a lap time during the session, with Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, Esteban Ocon, and Kevin Magnussen rounding out the list of those who managed to post a time on the leaderboard.
