Haas set to unveil 2024 F1 livery on February 2nd
Haas confirms it will unveil livery renders for its 2024 F1 car on the 2nd of February, marking the first digital launch of the new season.
American outfit Haas F1 Team has announced it will reveal the livery for its 2024 Formula 1 challenger on February 2nd via digital renders, becoming the first team to showcase their new colors for the upcoming season.
In a statement released on Friday, Haas confirmed it would provide the first glimpse of the visual identity for its new VF-24 car by releasing rendered images online next week.
The team has followed a similar approach in previous seasons, tending to unveil its livery earlier compared to rivals by utilizing computer-generated graphics.
Technical shakeout plans confirmed
While the external livery will be shown next week, Haas also stated the VF-24 would have its first on-track running during a shakedown session at Silverstone on February 11th.
This will form part of a double-shakedown program for the new car ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain later that month.
Season of change without Steiner
The 2024 campaign heralds significant transformation for Haas, notably being their first without long-standing Team Principal Guenther Steiner at the helm after his departure.
Steiners' contract expired and team owner Gene Haas opted against renewal, partially due to Haas' disappointing last-place finish in the 2022 constructors' championship.
Tire struggles and car concept change
Throughout last season, extreme tire degradation hampered the squad during races. Introducing a major car concept change at October's
United States Grand Prix failed to resolve these issues.
Drivers Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg - retained for 2024 - used different spec cars for the remainder of the year to aid analysis.
Investment disagreement and new leadership
Reports suggested a conflict between Steiner and Haas regarding increased infrastructure investment contributed to the bosses' exit.
Steiner was seemingly aware rival teams were directing more funds to upgrade facilities.
In his place, Ayao Komatsu has been promoted from Director of Engineering to lead the team.
Cautious optimism for 2024
Komatsu expressed cautious optimism about the new VF-24 challenger, admitting he holds realistic expectations given the timing of the car concept change last season.
However, he stated the '24 design represents a clear step forward for the outfit.
