British GP Qualifying: Verstappen defends pole, Norris surprises in second
Max Verstappen takes pole at British GP with 1:26.720, followed closely by McLaren's Norris and Piastri. Ferrari's Leclerc and Sainz claim fourth and fifth, with Mercedes' Russell and Hamilton at sixth and seventh. Red Bull's Perez starts from 16th.
The British Grand Prix was again dominated by Max Verstappen.
Once more, he solidified his claim to the pole position, his Red Bull car registering a time of 1:26.720, barely edging out Lando Norris by a mere 0.241 seconds.
Lando Norris drove his heart to claim the second spot. His rookie teammate, Oscar Piastri, added to the McLaren success story, grabbing the third fastest time.
The Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were close on their heels, claiming the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
The Mercedes duo, George Russell and Lewis Hamiltonin took the sixth and seventh positio.
There was a notable performance by Alex Albon, delivering an impressive finish at the eighth spot for Williams.
Fernando Alonso could only muster ninth place, while Pierre Gasly rounded off the top ten for Alpha Tauri.
Sergio Perez was out in Q1, marking the fifth GP that Perez has missed out on Q3.
