Brad Pitt to race Lewis Hamilton at British Grand Prix for upcoming F1 film
Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt is set to race Lewis Hamilton at the British Grand Prix. The 59-year-old actor will participate in the first parade lap at Silverstone as part of the shoot for his upcoming racing movie.
Dawn Apollo Films and Apple TV+ Collaboration
The untitled film, which is being produced by Hamilton's production company, Dawn Apollo Films, and Apple TV+, is set for release next year.
The blockbuster will feature Brad Pitt as a veteran F1 driver coming out of retirement to mentor an up-and-coming motorist.
The six-time world champion, Hamilton, 38, serves as an executive producer on the project.
According to The Sun, "Watching Brad Pitt leading the field in the British Grand Prix will be an incredible and surreal moment for TV viewers and fans at Silverstone this July."
Star-Studded Production Team
The movie's production team boasts of top industry talents, with Joseph Kosinski, who recently directed the sequel Top Gun: Maverick, at the helm.
Super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter Ehren Kruger are also attached to the project.
Back in December, the film sparked a fierce bidding war among film studios and streaming services, with Apple ultimately winning the rights in a reported $130 million deal.
Hamilton's Hollywood Dreams
Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to Hollywood, having made cameos in Cars 2, Cars 3, and Zoolander 2.
Apple also secured the rights to a documentary about his life and racing career in March.
When asked about his move to Hollywood in 2019, Hamilton remarked, "I don't know if I am ever going to be good at movies, but I'll give it a try."
Kosinski and Pitt's Racing Film History
Brad Pitt has reportedly long been interested in making a racing film with Kosinski.
The duo was previously in talks to make an early version of what eventually became the hit racing film Ford v Ferrari, titled Go Like Hell, featuring Pitt alongside Tom Cruise.
As fans eagerly await this thrilling spectacle, both the film and the British Grand Prix promise to be unforgettable experiences for Formula 1 enthusiasts and movie lovers alike.
