The Faenza-based Formula 1 outfit previously known as AlphaTauri has formally assumed a new identity as the Visa Cash App Red Bull Racing B-Team (VCARB).
The Faenza-based Formula 1 outfit previously known as AlphaTauri has formally assumed a new identity as the Visa Cash App Red Bull Racing B-Team (VCARB).
The rebranding comes on the back of the team's expired sponsorship deal with clothing company AlphaTauri after a 4-year association, prompting a reshaping of its F1 future.
As announced through a launch event to be held in Las Vegas on February 8th, VCARB will be adopting fresh visual branding across its car livery, staff uniforms and team logo.
Payment solutions giant Visa and mobile payments app Cash App have signed on under a groundbreaking sponsorship deal to become co-title partners of both Red Bull F1 teams.
The newly inked multi-year Visa deal represents a major coup, being the corporation's first significant F1 sponsorship in 15 years.
After being introduced through last season's inaugural Las Vegas GP, Visa worked closely with Cash App and AlphaTauri to negotiate the partnership.
Under its scope, the sponsors aim to provide fans elevated paddock and hospitality access including driver meet-and-greets.
VCARB has also alluded to competing under a new constructor-entrant license moving forward. This likely signals tighter integration between Red Bull's senior team and its sister counterpart, at both technical and commercial levels.
According to Red Bull's CMO Oliver Hughes, the goal is to unlock greater knowledge sharing between the outfits to push VCARB further up the competitive order.
Though yet to be finalized, adopting 'VCARB' as the designation of next year's challenger also remains a possibility.
While continuing junior talent development, VCARB has firmly stated intentions of fighting at the front more consistently.
The closer alignment to Red Bull Racing's proven chassis design infrastructure and expertise could be the key to extract these performance gains.
Come the opening F1 pre-season test in February, a new era for Red Bull's sister team will undoubtedly dawn under the Visa Cash App banner.
With fresh commercial backing, closer technical ties and a renamed identity, the Faenza outfit appears hungry to make its mark fighting at the sharp end.
