Sauber's Formula 1 team faces another significant leadership change as Alessandro Alunni Bravi announces his departure as team representative and managing director at the end of January.
The Italian executive's exit comes during a crucial transition period for the Swiss outfit, which is preparing for its transformation into Audi's works team in 2026.
Leadership Legacy and Transition
Alunni Bravi's eight-year tenure with Sauber began in 2017 following the Longbow Finance takeover.
His role expanded significantly in 2022 when he became managing director, and later team representative after Frederic Vasseur's move to Ferrari.
The Italian's departure coincides with former Red Bull sporting director Jonathan Wheatley's appointment as team principal, marking another step in Sauber's evolution toward its Audi future.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Reflecting on his departure, Alunni Bravi expressed deep emotional attachment to the team:
"It is an emotional time as my journey with Sauber reaches its end. This organisation went through exciting and difficult times alike, all without ever losing its spirit."
His sentiment was echoed by Chief Technical Officer Mattia Binotto, who praised Alunni Bravi as "a true team player who came to embody the essence of Sauber throughout the years."
